Task2Hire launches to connect employers with work-ready students through real-world tasks

A novel digital platform and service, Task2Hire, has been launched to help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world employability.

Designed to support tertiary students in developing practical, future-ready skills, Task2Hire enables users to engage with curated tasks and challenges that simulate real workplace scenarios and build core competencies needed in today’s job market.

Available on Android and iOS, Task2Hire offers students the opportunity to strengthen skills in problem-solving, communication, digital literacy, leadership, teamwork and creativity, while building a verifiable digital portfolio that reflects their growth and readiness for professional environments.

The solution was developed by ClearPath Career Consult (convenors of the annual Tertiary Unlocked programme, a flagship event by virtual career office), as a practical tool to support students’ career development while complementing institutional efforts to enhance graduate outcomes.

“We’re preparing students not just to graduate, but to thrive in a changing world of work where being a problem solver is your ticket to career success,” said Akua Ampah, Lead Consultant at ClearPath Career Consult.

“Task2Hire gives students a practical head-start to learn, develop and showcase skills that are valued by employers,” he added.

Practical experience, digitally delivered

Once registered, students can explore a growing library of tasks that simulate real work. By completing tasks, they earn points, build a skills-based portfolio and can unlock career-building opportunities such as internships, job shadowing, mentorship and industry exposure.

Employers, in turn, gain access to a streamlined way of identifying and engaging work-ready talent.

They can post projects for students to work on, review student submissions and connect directly with top performers, providing a more transparent and performance-based approach to early talent discovery.

For universities, Task2Hire serves as a scalable extension of existing career services. Institutions can onboard student cohorts, while giving students access to real-world challenges that reinforce academic learning with practical application.

Timely innovation for a shifting job market

The launch of Task2Hire comes at a time when many employers are rethinking traditional hiring criteria, placing greater emphasis on demonstrated skills and practical experience.

The platform’s design reflects this shift, offering an experience that feels more like a career lab than a job board.

With gamified elements, milestone tracking and real-time feedback loops, Task2Hire aims to meet students where they are: digitally engaged, ambitious and in search of meaningful ways to prepare for life after graduation.
