The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) has officially launched the 5th edition of the Chamber Business Awards, under the theme ‘Revitalising Ghana’s development agenda through strategic public-private collaboration’.
The launch event, held at the GNCCI National Secretariat in Accra, brought together industry leaders, development partners, government representatives and members of the business community.
The awards aim to celebrate business excellence while also reinforcing the chamber’s commitment to fostering structured public-private partnerships as a key pillar in Ghana’s economic transformation.
In his welcome address, GNCCI President, Stephane Miezan, highlighted the importance of collaboration in tackling structural challenges in the economy.
He noted that while recent macroeconomic indicators show signs of recovery — including improvements in inflation, exchange rates and reserve holdings, sustained growth depends on intentional cooperation between the public and private sectors.
“It is time to transition from promise to performance through a results-driven partnership between government and the private sector,” Mr. Miezan stated.
He added that the GNCCI will use this year’s awards to advocate for deeper engagement, particularly in areas such as value addition, industrial infrastructure, digitalisation and entrepreneurship.
Chairman of the Planning Committee, Prince Ackuaku, reiterated the significance of this year’s theme, describing the awards as more than just a celebration of business success.
“This is a rallying call. Strategic collaboration is the only way to achieve inclusive growth and national transformation,” he said.
Mr. Ackuaku outlined key focus areas for future collaboration, including joint infrastructure projects, co-created policy frameworks, MSME support and digitisation initiatives to improve public service delivery.
Both speakers urged stakeholders — including government agencies, donor partners, academia and private sector actors — to support the vision behind the awards and work toward a more resilient and competitive Ghanaian economy.
The 5th GNCCI Chamber Business Awards will recognise companies that have demonstrated innovation, resilience and meaningful contributions to national development, especially through partnerships with government or civil society.
The event sets the tone for a broader national conversation on how public and private actors can work together to revitalise Ghana’s development agenda in the face of global uncertainty and domestic economic pressures.
The Chairman of the Awards Planning Committee also noted that the November 8 awards event will recognise enterprises that have innovated through economic difficulty and contributed meaningfully to national development goals.
