Christian men who are desirous of taking up leadership positions in the Church and its organisations must be committed and dedicated to their responsibilities in ensuring the quality growth and development of the Church, Very Rev. Helena Opoku-Sarkodie has observed.
She said taking up the task of being in the helms of affairs of the Church, especially the Methodist Church, is a call for discipline, selflessness and sacrifice for which not all men and women alike were gifted with.
The Superintendent Minister made the disclosure at the induction into office of the Executive Officers of the Airport East Circuit of the Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowships at the Kwesi Dickson Memorial (KDM) Memorial Society at Adjringarno on Sunday.
She commended the hard work and meaningful contribution of the men in the Airport East Circuit toward the expansion of the work and word of God.
She was assisted with the induction by two Ministers of the KDM Society, the Very Rev. Yaw Addai-Yeboah and the Very Rev. Ishmael Ghansah.
The induction ceremony was supervised by the leadership of the Northern Accra Diocese of the Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship, including the Chairman of the Diocese, Ato Hope; the Immediate Past Chairman, Kwamina Amoasi-Andoh; and the Vice Chairman, Isaac Kojo Achiampong.
The new Airport East Circuit Executive is under the Chairmanship of Kweku Sersah-Johnson, with Professor Kwame Asamoah as the Immediate Past Chairman. Other members are Elvis Blankson, Vice Chairman; Godknows Ametepey, Secretary; Ben Baffoe-Mensah, Organiser; Edmund Brite Oppong, Treasurer; Evang. Collins Sakyi-Armah, Evangelism Coordinator; Elikem Awagah, Co-opted Executive Member; Eleazer Tackie, Assistant Secretary; Isaac Ackun, Kwame Ansah and Raphael Agbesi as executive members.
