Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC received the newly inaugurated Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), on a courtesy visit to its Managing Director, Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku, to present the Council’s strategic vision for its three-year tenure and explore potential areas of collaboration.

Led by its National President, Mr. Michael Abbiw, the CIMG team outlined a bold agenda aimed at strengthening professional marketing practices nationwide through education, certification, and policy influence.

The delegation included Ms. Ama G. Amoah, Vice President; Mr. Francis Dadzie, Advisor; Mr. Kwabena Agyekum, Registrar and CEO; Mr. Clarence Pappoe; and Ms. Priscilla Menka. Representing Republic Bank were Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku, Managing Director; Mr. Ferguson Ofori-Atta, Chief Finance Officer; and Mrs. Genevieve Aboney, Manager, Marketing and Communications.

During the engagement, Mr. Abbiw presented the CIMG’s forward-looking agenda to make professional marketing more attractive and relevant to both public and private sector institutions.

He emphasized that effective marketing practices permeate every level of an institution’s operations, from relationship management at the branch level to customer experience, corporate banking, and beyond.

He further highlighted new areas of focus, including: ESG and Sustainability training for staff across industries to enhance their capacity in ethical reporting and sustainable development practices, the establishment of a CIMG call centre to receive and resolve unresolved service-related complaints from consumers, one of the outcomes of the CIMG-CSI initiative, and CIMG’s government-mandated role in spearheading the Brand Ghana and Brand Africa project, aimed at shaping national and continental identity through marketing excellence.

In response, Dr. Dzoboku, Managing Director of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC commended the new Governing Council for its visionary leadership and reaffirmed Republic Bank’s commitment to advancing marketing excellence and capacity-building in the financial sector.

“This meeting has been an eye-opener. I’m deeply impressed by the Institute’s proactive agenda and its far-reaching impact on professional development and nation-building. For us at Republic Bank, people are our most important asset.

That’s why one of my very first decisions as Managing Director was to invest in our human capital, and CIMG’s programs align perfectly with this vision,” Dr. Dzoboku stated.

He welcomed the proposed CIMG education and certification programs as timely and essential to developing a resilient and future-ready workforce.

He added that the Bank looks forward to working closely with CIMG to identify and implement mutually beneficial initiatives in line with both institutions’ strategic objectives.

“The CIMG has come at the right time. Together, we can build capacity, drive sustainable marketing practice that meets the demands of a modern, fast-evolving economy, and prepare professionals for the future. The potential for collaboration is vast, and we are ready,” he emphasized.

Dr. Dzoboku further encouraged the CIMG leadership to take advantage of Republic Bank’s market-leading financial solutions, including mortgages and credit cards, to enhance the welfare of its staff and members.

This meeting reaffirms Republic Bank’s positioning as a leader in innovation, professionalism, and sustainable growth, and signals a new chapter of collaboration between financial institutions and professional bodies to shape the future of marketing in Ghana and beyond
