NOVA Business School Africa is set to open a new campus in Takoradi this year, with a focus on delivering a practical and innovative business education model.

In addition to executive education programmes, the institution will emphasise entrepreneurship, start-up growth and industrial development, equipping businesses with the tools to scale and compete effectively on both regional and global levels.

Speaking to the B&FT on the sidelines of an Economic Seminar organised by the institute in Takoradi, Prof. Mathew Tsamenyi, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NOVA Business School Africa, shared insights into the school’s mission.

Asked why Takoradi was chosen, Prof. Tsamenyi explained: “We want to be embedded in the community, and we chose Takoradi because of its dynamic settler economy and strategic location”.

He added that the school is collaborating with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), Sekondi-Takoradi Branch, to enrol more local businesses as the chamber engages directly with many companies and industries in the region.

“We are focusing on preparing, transforming and scaling up businesses to compete effectively across regional and international markets,” Prof. Tsamenyi said. “This school will differ from traditional academic institutions by combining theoretical and practical approaches.

He also announced that the school will offer business advisory services to support regional businesses in their growth and sustainability efforts. It will, thus, “work closely with businesses to provide solutions such as access to markets and finance”.

The school, he said, is partnering with a number of stakeholders; and the Takoradi Campus will be housed at the Lodge by Eagle, located within the Airport Ridge area.

Additionally, Prof. Tsamenyi revealed plans to launch the Eagles Hospitality School (EHS), aimed at providing practical training for professionals in the tourism and hospitality industry.
