Amid the global healthcare landscape shifts towards technology-driven solutions, Ghana is making a bold move to join the digital health revolution.
In a landmark partnership, Tech Hub Africa LLC, a leading technology solutions provider and U.S.-based DiaspoCare LLC, a global healthcare service and access provider have announced a collaboration set to redefine how healthcare is accessed, delivered, and experienced in Ghana.
This partnership will introduce a new model of care, one built on innovation, accessibility and trust. At its core is a shared vision: to make quality healthcare affordable and accessible to every Ghanaian, whether they are living in Kumasi or in the diaspora.
The initiative, which launches today, 24th of April 2025 brings to Ghana a suite of integrated digital health services. Through DiaspoCare’s proprietary healthcare kiosk, the HPod, patients will be able to undergo on-site lab tests with real-time diagnostic results.
The service will also support virtual consultations with licensed physicians, centralized care coordination for chronic diseases, secure global mobile payment solutions for healthcare, and access to a growing network of pharmacies and allied health professionals across the country.
But this is more than a convenience—it’s a solution to an urgent need. Currently, less than 30% of health facilities in Africa are equipped with diagnostic laboratories. Over 600 million people on the continent lack access to affordable primary care, resulting in delayed diagnoses and worsening outcomes for chronic and acute illnesses.
The Tech Hub Africa–DiaspoCare partnership directly addresses these gaps by providing the tools needed to receive care in real time, at a fraction of the cost, from anywhere. For Tech Hub Africa, this marks a major milestone. Founded by entrepreneurs Doreen Awuku-Agyeman and Jemima Prempeh, Tech Hub Africa LLC has become a key player in Ghana’s growing tech ecosystem.
Known for its commitment to digital transformation and inclusive innovation, the company has led various tech-driven initiatives in education, fintech, and civic engagement. Now, it is turning its focus to health—a sector ripe for disruption and in dire need of scalable solutions.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with DiaspoCare to bring this game-changing health technology to Ghana,” said Awuku-Agyeman and Prempeh in a joint statement. “This is a breakthrough moment in how healthcare is provided and coordinated. By leveraging technology, we are ensuring that quality healthcare is no longer a privilege but a basic right accessible to all, regardless of location or income level.”
The partnership also offers a lifeline to Ghanaians living abroad, many of whom struggle to support the medical needs of loved ones back home. With DiaspoCare’s secure mobile payment feature, families can now prepay for healthcare services with confidence, eliminating the fear of misused funds or unreliable care.
Importantly, this initiative is expected to stimulate job creation within Ghana’s health sector. As more kiosks and virtual services roll out nationwide, demand will grow for medical professionals, pharmacists, technicians, and health IT specialists—strengthening both the economy and the healthcare workforce.
The Tech Hub Africa–DiaspoCare partnership is more than a service launch—it’s a vision for the future. A future where healthcare is proactive, not reactive. A future where technology doesn’t just connect people, but saves lives.
