Renowned leadership coach and 40 Under 40 awardee Delasie Dogbey has launched a powerful new book, Let Go of the Baggage: Emotional Baggage and Its Impact on Workplace Success, challenging corporate Ghana to prioritize mental health and emotional well-being in the workplace.

The book, officially launched in Accra on March 30, explores how unresolved trauma and emotional burdens silently hinder productivity, leadership, and organizational growth.

It urges leaders to rethink workplace culture by integrating emotional intelligence and psychological safety into core business strategies.

Speaking at the event, Dogbey emphasized, “We cannot expect peak performance from people drowning in emotional pain. True leadership creates spaces where healing and high performance coexist.”

The launch was graced by high-profile guests including Prof. Titus Kofi Beyuo, Member of Parliament for Lambussie, who warned, “Organizations ignoring mental health are building on quicksand. Future-successful companies will prioritize psychological safety alongside financial targets.”

The Guest of Honour, Rotary International District 9104 Governor Florence Maame Hagan, praised the book as “essential reading for workplaces committed to sustainable success.”

Beyond its critical message, the event stood out for its practical impact: certified professionals offered free mental health screenings to attendees, signaling that addressing emotional well-being must go beyond conversation.

Let Go of the Baggage draws on Dogbey’s rich experience working across multiple sectors in Ghana—from telecommunications to insurance, media, coaching, and consulting—highlighting real-life stories of resilience and offering actionable steps.

The book serves as a guide for individuals, managers, HR professionals, and CEOs to identify, address, and overcome emotional trauma that can hinder success.
