Achimota Retail Centre has unveiled a vibrant and inclusive seasonal package for Easter, featuring an exciting array of family-friendly activities, charitable initiatives, and carefully curated entertainment options tailored for the delight of visitors of all ages.
The centre’s Easter carnival hits a crescendo during the Easter weekend, starting on a harmonious note come Good Friday with a classical choir session as the soulful Olive Evangel Choir fills the air with melodious choral music, to invoke that ideal and serene atmosphere perfect for reflection and relaxation.
The next day, Easter Saturday, is action packed – a big day for the entire family as ‘Games on Wheels’ drives in to pitch camp with ARA, the mall’s games specialists, to give shoppers and revellers a memorable day out with a variety of interactive games designed for adults, including thrilling challenges and exciting competitions. Meanwhile, kids will be left to take control of the playgrounds and unleash their creativity with exciting face-painting episodes.
ARC’s management describes Easter Monday as a ‘fully loaded’ day, which will start with the mall’s lovable Easter Bunny Mascot stepping out of the closet to promenade the alleys and walkways, to ‘Meet and Greet’ shoppers and visitors and tango with kids of all ages. Encounters with the mascot usually offer memorable photo opportunities and give children and parents a good share in the joy of the season, creating lifelong memories for families.
The same day, a Sip ‘n Paint’ sideliner is slated for those patrons with ardent creative and artistic flair, where they would sip on their favourite beverages, while they express themselves through art – a rare opportunity for both young and old patrons to relax, unwind and have fun as they tap into their creative sides.
That euphoria which characterises Easter Mondays in Ghana may reach hysteric levels when the whistle blows for the start of the highly anticipated Discount Hunt session. Shoppers and visitors can scavenge the mall for hidden discount offers and exclusive deals from their favourite shops. Stores like Gamel, LC Waikiki, MRP and ARA are all lined up to offer handsome discounts and deals on Easter Monday.
However, the highpoint of ARC’s 2025 Easter celebration is the launch of its Charity Drive initiative – a month-long campaign to collect essential items to donate to the needy. According to ARC’s management this special initiative is aimed at bringing the surrounding communities together to make a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate.
“The Easter season has always been associated with giving, kindness and generosity…and for us at ARC, besides ensuring that our patrons enjoy an exciting and rewarding shopping experience during the period, we want to use the Easter season as a time to reflect on values like compassion, empathy and charity,” said Centre Manager Alice Esi Coleman.
She said, with the help of an NGO, ARC is collecting clothing, non-perishable food items and essential items for donation to the Motherly Love Orphanage in Accra, and to make it easy for benevolent shoppers and visitors to contribute, ‘Donation Points’ have been designated at strategic locations within the mall.
“We are collecting a variety of essential items, including gently used clothing, like shirts, dresses, coats, jackets, and shoes; non-perishable foods and canned provisions such as rice, pasta, and other staples, as well as toiletries and household essentials like toilet paper, soap, and toothbrushes,” said Esi Coleman.
Achimota Retail Centre is located at Dome, off the Accra-Nsawam highway, and delivers modern, secure retail shopping services and quality recreation to a cluster of communities including Achimota, Dome, Tantra Hills, Taifa, Kwabenya, Ashongman and the entire north-eastern quarter of the capital.
