Chief Executive of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle has assured Upstream Petroleum companies of her determination to increase collaboration between the Regulator and the exploration and service companies as stakeholders in the sector seek a reboot of the industry.
The meeting between the Petroleum Commission and the Upstream Petroleum Chamber brought together all the major players in the industry including Eni and its partner Vitol, Tullow Oil and Kosmos Energy, Pecan Energies and Modec. Also present were major Ghanaian oilfield service companies and international service companies.
The meeting was chaired by the Senior Vice President of Kosmos Energy, Joe Mensah, who is also Chairman of the Chamber. Mr Mensah called on government to do all in its power to support companies who are already invested in Ghana to do more, even as the country goes in search of new investors.
CEO of the Upstream chamber, David Ampofo, urged the PC to lend its support to the Chambers’ efforts at collaborating with other government agencies to ensure that its own efforts at improving the regulatory environment are not undermined.
The parties agreed to meet as regularly as possible in the interest of the sector.
