Harvest Chapel marks 68th Independence with worship

Harvest Chapel International’s headquarters in Accra has celebrated the country’s 68th Independence anniversary in worship.

Dressed in colorful Kente and national-themed attire, they gathered to honour both God’s faithfulness and the nation’s journey, reinforcing the deep connection between faith and national pride.



Children from the Kiddie Haven ministry lifted a heartfelt prayer for Ghana’s peace, prosperity, and unity.

The Harvest Gospel Choir then moved the congregation with a powerful musical ministration that blended modern gospel with traditional Ghanaian rhythms, emphasizing gratitude for God’s blessings on the nation.

Fitzgerald Odonkor, General Overseer of Harvest Chapel International, delivered a sermon centered on sacrifice, patience, and perseverance.

“Sacrifice is one of the parameters of suffering. Ghana, like every great nation, has made sacrifices to progress. I urge you all to give your best in faith, leadership, and service to their country,” he said.

He further emphasized that challenges refine believers whiles encouraging endurance and resilience in the face of trials. He stressed that patience perfects individuals and nations alike, calling for commitment to growth and unity.

Mr. Odonkor tied his message to national development, urging Ghanaians to embrace sacrifice in their pursuit of progress.

“Persecution is what happens when the word clashes with the world. I encourage you all to remain steadfast, serve faithfully, and avoid distractions that hinder their purpose,” he urged.

As the service ended, attendees left with a renewed sense of devotion to God and country, reflecting on Ghana’s resilience and the faith that continues to shape its future.
