I celebrate not just your life, but also your legacy of faith, love, and service and on this special day, I want to thank you for being such an amazing father.
You have been an incredible blessing to me in more ways than I can count, and your unwavering support and encouragement have shaped me into the person I am today.
The strength and wisdom you’ve shown over the years have always been a guiding light for me and I am so grateful for the love, guidance, and support you’ve shown me throughout my life.
You’ve been an example in every sense of the word and your selflessness, wisdom, and generosity inspire me every day to be the best version of myself. The values you instilled in me continue to influence my choices and actions even till today, and if I dare say so myself, I’m doing pretty well.
“Are you related to Apostle General?” is a question that’s become all too familiar. As soon as people hear my last name, the inquiry inevitably follows. When I was younger, it was flattering, even amusing.
But over time, it started to feel like a constant scrutiny, a perpetual reminder that my identity is inextricably linked to someone else’s. Sometimes, I feel like I’m living in the shadow of a giant, with people’s expectations and assumptions about me being shaped by my famous father.
It’s a peculiar feeling, one that’s both humbling and frustrating, and it’s something I’m still learning to navigate. I remember years ago, one of my friends asked me how it felt like to live with the Apostle General and see him every day and at the time I thought “what kind of question is that?” I have however come to understand the benefits of being associated with a renowned and respected figure like you and it’s now a badge of honour. I’m deeply grateful for the sacrifices you’ve made and the legacy you have established for us.
On the occasion of your 65th, I pray Genesis 27:29 over your life:
“Let peoples serve you,
And nations bow down to you.
Be master over your brethren,
And let your mother’s sons bow down to you.
Cursed be everyone who curses you,
And blessed be those who bless you!”
May this milestone birthday mark the beginning of a new chapter of unprecedented blessings, favour, wisdom, and strength. May God grant you many more years of fruitful ministry so that you can continue to touch your generation with the power of God. May God continue to use you mightily to spread the Gospel, to heal the broken-hearted, and to bring hope to the nations.
Happy 65th Daddy! Here’s to many more years of life, grace, blessings and all things good! I love you more than words can say.
Love,
Nana Akos
