The management of Business and Financial Times (B&FT) paid a courtesy visit to the Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (CanCham) in Accra on January 16, 2025.
The courtesy visit was aimed at deepening the two organisations’ partnership and exploring new avenues for collaboration in promoting business growth, networking opportunities and Ghana-Canada bilateral relations.
President of CanCham Mrs. Linda K. Vasnani, in her welcome remarks, expressed gratitude for the longstanding partnership with B&FT, noting the newspaper’s active involvement in the Chamber’s activities.
“B&FT has been a valuable member and your role in promoting business and fostering connections aligns perfectly with our mission. We hope to deepen this collaboration and explore ways of enhancing our mutual benefits,” she said.
Mrs. Vasnani also emphasised CanCham’s commitment to building capacity among its members while fostering networking opportunities within the Chamber and with Canadian partners.
Chief Executive Officer-B&FT Dr. Godwin Acquaye, who led the delegation, also expressed appreciation for the partnership and reaffirmed the paper’s commitment to supporting Chamber’s initiatives.
“We appreciate the relationship we have built over the years and look forward to strengthening it further. Our aim is to support your initiatives to highlight the Chamber’s activities,” he said.
He also proposed that B&FT and CanCham collaborate on mutually beneficial activities to strengthen the business community.
He then took the opportunity to present an overview of B&FT’s upcoming events, including The Money Summit, Ghana Economic Forum, Youth Economic Forum, Environmental Sustainability Summit and the Women in Business dialogue series, which is set to take place in Kumasi this year.
The dialogue series aims to empower young female entrepreneurs with training and support necessary for scaling-up.
He said these programmes contribute to shaping the business landscape’s future and the country’s economic development.
For her part, Executive Secretary-CanCham Edwina Atta-Sonno underscored the importance of improving responsiveness and communication to enhance the partnership.
She noted that timely publication of Chamber activities and streamlined communication channels would significantly benefit the collaboration.
“We want to ensure our activities are published promptly and effectively. Additionally, we are exploring ways to feature B&FT prominently in our communications to members, creating a win-win situation,” she said.
The discussion also explored innovative joint initiatives which would benefit chamber members and enhance B&FT’s engagement with its audience.
The partnership between B&FT and CanCham demonstrates the importance of collaboration in driving business growth and strengthening Ghana-Canada relations. Both organisations look forward to achieving their shared goals and creating meaningful impact in the business ecosystem.
Other members of the delegation from B&FT included the Head of Human Resources Department, Rhoda Mensah- Ankrah; Head of Finance, Francis Botchway Dadzie; and Director of Operations, Dr. Daniel Amateye Anim.
