The Ladies’ Club of Abelemkpe (Nima) Taxpayer Service Centre (TSC) of the Ghana Revenue Authority, has donated foodstuffs and key necessities to the management and inmates of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
The donation was part of activities to mark the yuletide season and prioritise the wellbeing of patients at the hospital.
President of the GRA Ladies’ Club at Abelemkpe TSC, Chief Revenue Officer, Irene Kodjoe, said the gesture was to encourage management of the facility and to cushion them in taking care of patients in the hospital.
“We brought foodstuffs comprising rice, beverages, canned meat, sacks of corn and other items including dustbins, sanitary pads among others. These items and consumables are meant to empower the facility” Madam Kodjoe noted.
She said the Abelemkpe TSC of the GRA, will continue to prioritise inmates of the hospital not only in yuletide seasons and on special occasions, but as and when the the Cetre is called upon.
Ms Kodjoe said the Commissioner General of GRA, Madam Julie Essiam is a type of leader whose kind gesture has been the leading light and motivating factor behind the donation.
Deputy Director, Administration of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Victus Kwaku Kpesese, who received the items on behalf of the Hospital, expressed appreciation for the gesture.
Describing the donation as timely, Mr Kpesese explained that the needs of the inmates at the facility has been unceasing.
“Even though we are very much appreciative of the gesture, we pray that more of such gestures come in the coming days and months” he noted.
