Seed for Success Incubation Programme, a flagship initiative of the Food-Agro Business Hub (FAB Hub), has equipped its first cohort of 13 food sector andAgri processing entrepreneurs with hands-on skills in best business practices for growth and sustainability.
The Seed for Success Incubation Programme is a comprehensive initiative that provides entrepreneurs with access to training, mentorship, and resources tailored to their specific needs. The programme focuses on key areas such as business planning, book keeping and financial management, marketing communication, and quality control among others.
The graduating ceremony, held at the FAB Hub’s Accra-New Town office, marked a significant milestone in the entrepreneurs’ journey towards establishing sustainable and profitable businesses.
The cohort consisted of eight female and five male entrepreneurs who underwent an intensive training programme designed to enhance their business management skills.
Executive Director, FAB Hub, Kobina Nketsia Yankey, speaking to the media on the sideline of the graduation, highlighted that FAB’s mission is to empower entrepreneurs in the food-agro sector with the skills and knowledge required to drive growth, innovation, and sustainability.
“Entrepreneurs in this country are mostly, faced with access to credit, market, technical know-how, and acquiring various business and standard certifications. We have provided them with the technical assistance to achieve the technical know-how for sustainability, we have other arranges with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) for certification assistance, and we also have arrangements to help them get their products to different markets and shopping malls across the country easily.
“So, the write foundation to thrive has been enabled. We are proud of the progress made by our first cohort, and we look forward to supporting their continued success,” he said.
FAB Hub is committed to supporting the growth and development of the food-agro sector in Ghana. Through initiatives like the Seed for Success Incubation Programme, the organization aims to create a vibrant ecosystem that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, he added.
The 13 entrepreneurs who graduated from the programme have demonstrated significant improvement in their business operations, with many already exhibiting improved quality and top-notch packing abilities to generate increased sales and revenue.
In the individual performance and awards session, Ophelia Asumeng, with brand name Sammy Rich Enterprise, who is into Kose powder processing and packing emerged as the best entrepreneur during the pitch.
Caleb N.K. Ayisih, of AbotsiHOT Original -Kheebab and Enyonam Akpabey of Meal DuJour Catering -Cookies, place second and third repectively.
The best graduating entrepreneur, Ophelia Asumeng, expressed her gratitude to FAB Hub for the opportunity to participate in the programme.
She indicated that the training has been invaluable, equipping her with the confidence and skills required to take her business to the next level.
Mr. Nketia Yankey, mentioned that the programme will be scaled up and rolled out quarterly from next year to empower entrepreneurs in the New-Town enclave and other parts of the country in partnership with other stakeholders.
