Ahaspora Professionals Network (Ahaspora), in partnership with CalBank, is set to organise the fourth edition of ‘Aha Yɛ Dɛ 2024’, an end-of-year festival dedicated to exhibiting the country’s innovative spirit to diasporans and fostering the growth of local entrepreneurs.

The event, slated for Saturday, December 21 at the CalBank Head Office, will feature Made-in-Ghana vendors, cultural displays, games, fireside chats, musical performances and create an enabling environment for local businesses to showcase and launch their services or products to both the foreign and local communities.

Aha Yɛ Dɛ 2024 promises to be a day full of vibrant performances, unique cultural exhibitions and an energetic marketplace. It will offer 50 carefully selected vendors with a diverse range of products, from fashion and jewellery to health products and financial services, an opportunity to reach new customers and gain greater recognition for their quality Made-in-Ghana products.

Additionally, the event goes beyond just a celebration and serves as a platform for collaboration, networking and an opportunity to support the nation’s economic growth and impact.

The Founder of Ahaspora, Christabel Dadzie, reiterated the event’s impact on the economy, highlighting its role as a catalyst for development and a good avenue for the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). “With Aha Yɛ Dɛ, we are depicting what the name depicts (in Akan) – ‘Here (Ghana) is Good’. The festival elevates the positive African story by showcasing world-class Made-in-Ghana brands. It is a catalyst for economic empowerment and development and a space for small and medium businesses to thrive,” she said.

She added that the company is proud to organise Aha Yɛ Dɛ 2024 to contribute to the country and continent, bridging the gap between home and abroad with a local, diaspora and international audience.

For his part, CalBank’s Head of Marketing, Kofi Siabi, expressed the financial institution’s excitement to support SMEs and sponsor Aha Yɛ Dɛ 2024, adding that this year’s event promises an exceptional shopping experience in a serene and vibrant setting, with great deals for patrons.

He noted that the bank will leverage the CalBank App, QR codes and other payment options to ensure a seamless cashless experience for vendors and buyers at the event, reflecting the bank’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions. “To enhance convenience, CalBank is ensuring a seamless cashless experience with multiple payment options. Transactions can be effortlessly completed through the CalBank App, QR codes, the short code *771# and other digital payment platforms,” he said.

Mr. Siabi urged citizens to join the movement that empowers the nation’s economy and celebrates entrepreneurship.

Ahaspora is a diaspora organisation established to promote Brain Gain by supporting Ghanaian professionals who have lived or been educated abroad and have returned home. “Aha” is an Akan word for “Here” and “Spora” is a stem of Diaspora. The name befits the organisation’s status as a home to global citizens who use their knowledge, skills and resources to make Ghana a better place to live.
