The President of the Chartered Institute of Marketers Ghana (CIMG), Dr. Kasser Tee, has urged marketers to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to gain deeper insights into consumer behavior and enhance their marketing strategies.
According to him, beyond technological advancement, AI presents a transformative potential to drive societal progress by creating a more connected, informed and empowered society. Its role as a catalyst for equitable and impactful marketing strategies cannot also be overemphasised.
“We must leverage AI to gain deeper insights into consumer behaviour, tailor our messaging to meet the unique needs of our diverse audience and create more inclusive and equitable marketing content,” he said.
Speaking at the 33rd CIMG President’s Ball in Accra on the theme: ‘Harnessing the power of AI as a transformative tool for marketers, ’ he noted that AI has emerged as a pivotal force, reshaping the way to connect with consumers, analyse data and develop strategies. It also offers unparalleled opportunities to gain deep insights, enhance efficiency, and deliver personalized experiences that resonate with the audience.
Dr. Tee indicated that practitioners and leaders in the field of marketing must begin to embrace this technological revolution, not merely as a tool, but as a transformative catalyst that will redefine the future of their profession.
While urging them to take advantage, he also cautions against the unethical use of it which could undermine the profession and bring down its integrity.
“As we harness the power of AI, it is also crucial to remain vigilant about the ethical implications of its use. AI must be embraced and used in a manner that respects privacy, promotes transparency, and upholds the highest standards of integrity.
As marketers, we have a responsibility to ensure that the deployment of AI is guided by ethical considerations and that it serves to enhance, rather than undermine the trust that consumers place in us. By adhering to these principles, we can harness the transformative potential of AI while safeguarding the values that underpin our profession,” he advised.
Dr. Tee also emphasized the importance of maintaining a peaceful electoral process, urging members to approach the elections with respect, tolerance, and civility, ensuring that Ghana remains a beacon of hope and stability.
The President’s Ball is the last official event that concludes the Institute’s activities. It provides the platform for the President to host many corporate executives and professionals and deliver a speech on a chosen topic of national interest.
Other activities of the night included the induction of 66 marketing professionals and corporate institutions into membership, as well as the conferment of Chartered Marketer status and fellowship honors.
