The East Legon Football Academy has been honored with the prestigious Youth Soccer Development Excellence Award at the 2024 Ghana Business Integrity Forum & Awards.
The event, which celebrates outstanding achievements and ethical leadership across various sectors, recognized the academy for its exceptional contribution to nurturing young talent and promoting integrity through sports.
The academy which was founded in 2019 by Mr. Winston Yeboah Danso has seen the growth of the academy into a hub of hope for aspiring young athletes through training and education with a pathway to succeed both on and off the field
The award was presented to the academy’s Head of Operations, Mr. Alfred Christ Agidi, during the ceremony held in Accra . Mr. Agidi accepted the honor on behalf of the academy, expressing gratitude to the organizers and reaffirming the academy’s commitment to youth development.
Following a successful returned of East Legon football club from the Dana cup held in Denmark this year, Mr. Alfred Christ B. Agidi who was appointed as the the Head of Administration and Operations in 2023 at academy. The appointment marked a significant milestone in Mr. Alfred’s career, bringing years of experience in management and operations to a vital role in the development of young football talents.
In this new position, Mr Alfred who oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the academy both in Ghana and overseas with the academy’s international relations in ensuring that all departments operate smoothly and efficiently.
His role which also involve coordinating with various stakeholders, including coaches, players, and external partners, to foster an environment that supports the growth and success of the academy’s athletes.
Mr. Alfred background in administration and operations, coupled with a passion for football, support from the president of East Legon Football Academy and management ensured the idea preparations to this year’s Dana Cup tournament victory.
This latest accolade cements the academy’s position as a leader in sports development and a trailblazer in shaping the future of Ghanaian football.
The founder of East Legon football Academy was also honored on the day as the Future Focus CEO of year.
