The first group of administrators from GIMPA has successfully completed the Fast-track Intensive Professional Certification Programme (FIPC) in administration, earning a Chartered Professional Administrator (ChPA) designation from the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants (CIAMC).

The internship provides licentiates with valuable opportunities to apply and deepen their understanding of administration, by engaging with the managerial and leadership roles of professional administrators and integrating this knowledge into their work.

The Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants-Ghana (CIAMC) is a professional body responsible for examining, licencing and regulating administrators and management consultants. The Institute aims to promote excellence in the fields of professional administration and management consultancy through training and chartering its members.

The GIMPA administrators completed a five-day training course in professional administration practice, covering a comprehensive range of topics including administrative law, professional ethics and codes of practice, scholarly writing, communication and presentation skills, as well as critical thinking and management decision-making.

Professional administration practice includes completing an internship manual to document daily activities over six months, followed by a management challenge action research project or investigative report. Participants conclude the programme by presenting and defending their investigative reports before a panel of examiners.

Following their graduation on 26th October 2024, they were inducted into the CIAMC body as Associate Members with rights and privileges.

Organisers have announced that a second cohort will follow this group, a step expected to further elevate standards and redefine the calibre of administrators at GIMPA.
