In a passionate appeal to Ghanaians, Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II, the Paramount Queenmother of Bechem Traditional Area in the Ahafo Region, has urged her community and the general voting public to consider Ghana’s future and elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as the next President.

Addressing Dr. Bawumia and a gathering in Bechem on Friday as part of the NPP flagbearer’s regional tour, Nana Serwaa emphasized that Ghana’s progress and the welfare of future generations should guide voters’ decisions in the upcoming election.

She highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s vision and dedication to national development as evidence of his suitability to lead the nation. “We need a leader who holds Ghana close to his heart, someone who fulfills promises and has a clear vision for our nation’s future,” said Nana Serwaa. “Let’s prioritize what is best for Ghana and the generations to come.”

Nana Serwaa commended Dr. Bawumia’s contributions to national progress and his role in spearheading innovations across the country.

She appealed to Ghanaians to support his candidacy, stressing the need for continuity in leadership to further Ghana’s development.

“As a country, we’re making strides in many areas, and we should avoid any setbacks,” she said. “Dr. Bawumia has proven himself. Let’s give him the opportunity to continue and build on the work he’s started.”

Nana Serwaa acknowledged that traditional leaders are often expected to remain politically neutral but affirmed her stance, stating, “We cannot ignore what we’ve seen with our own eyes. The progress is clear, and we’ll continue to speak on it.”

The Queenmother offered her blessings to Dr. Bawumia, expressing faith in his future success. “Remain steadfast and courageous; victory is near. By God’s grace, you’ll be sworn in as President in January 2025,” she affirmed.
