As Ghana positions itself as a leading tourist destination in West Africa, the country’s hospitality sector is evolving rapidly to meet increasing demand.

With a surge in both leisure and business travelers, the need for premium accommodation and top-tier services is more pressing than ever.

The growth of the hospitality industry has not only bolstered Ghana’s economy but has also contributed to job creation, further establishing the nation as a key player in global tourism. A recent addition to this dynamic sector is the River Hills Hotel and Suites, established in Weija, Accra.

Owned by Melvin Watson and his wife, Shevon Watson, the hotel is designed to meet international standards while embracing the spirit of Ghanaian warmth and culture.

During the inauguration, Melvin Watson shared his vision for the hotel’s role in Ghana’s tourism landscape. “We’ve built this hotel not just as a place for guests to stay, but as an experience of Ghana’s warmth combined with world-class comfort.”

River Hills Hotel and Suites is projected to directly employ over 150 people, adding valuable employment opportunities to the Weija area. The hotel offers luxury rooms, state-of-the-art conference facilities, and high-end dining options, catering to the diverse needs of both business and leisure travelers.

Mrs. Shevon Watson reflected on the significance of the project, expressing her gratitude to all who contributed. “From the moment we discovered this location, we knew this would be home for our vision. We’re proud to see it come to fruition, and we’re thankful for everyone who helped make it a reality.”

Ghana’s tourism sector has gained momentum since the ‘Year of Return’ initiative in 2019, which brought global attention to the country’s rich heritage and culture.
