Accra’s premier shopping destination, Accra Mall has announced its top five finalists for the Accra Mall Fashion Fund (AMFF) challenge 2024 at the Empowerment Summit Event held at Silverbird Cinema.
These designers celebrated for their creativity and potential, are set to compete for the ultimate prize in a competition that aims to launch the next generation of Ghanaian fashion talent.
The five finalists—Enock Kwaa (@bicedie_), Eleanor Seku (@shopseku), Hilda Oforiwa Opoku (@redwool_), Rukaya Asedu (@rhuqi_Atelier), and Erica Dogbeda Yaotsey (@nutorla)—stood out from a pool of talented applicants.
They will now vie for a US$3,000 cash prize and the opportunity to secure a prime space at Accra Mall to showcase their collections, providing them with a platform to grow their brands in one of Ghana’s most prestigious retail locations.
The Empowerment Summit, part of the three-month Accra Mall Fashion Fund initiative, brought together designers, fashion enthusiasts, and industry experts under the theme of the event, “Antiquarian,” at the centre of discussions, the day was filled with invaluable insights into fashion history, branding, and design.
Key speakers included Mrs. Agnes Odambea, a lecturer at Blue Crest College, who emphasised the significance of antiquity in modern fashion, and Mrs. Delali Bentsi-Enchill, who explored the core elements of design.
Their insights provided the finalists with tools to refine their craft, as well as inspiration for future collections. Mr. Joey Darko also known as (@urtailorstailor.official) offered practical advice on branding and operational strategies.
The announcement of the five finalists was the highlight of the event. Mrs. Denise Asare, General Manager of Accra Mall Ghana, praised the designers for their innovation and dedication, urging them to use the Fashion Fund as a stepping stone to elevate their brands. “This initiative was created to give you an avenue to grow and showcase your unique talents,” she said.
Finalists, Enock Kwaa, Eleanor Seku, Hilda Oforiwa Opoku, Rukaya Asedu, and Erica Dogbeda Yaotsey will receive mentoring, and exposure, and face exciting challenges that reflect real-world fashion industry scenarios.
Their creativity will be put to the test as they compete for the grand prize, which includes not only the cash reward but also an opportunity to gain critical visibility within the fashion industry.

The Accra Mall Fashion Fund is dedicated to discovering and supporting emerging Ghanaian fashion designers. Through mentorship, workshops, and financial support, the fund provides designers with the resources needed to grow their brands and succeed in the fashion industry.
