Delta United Group CEO donates sports equipment to Jonina FC

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Delta United Group, Sabri Rezk – through business magnate and philanthropist, Yasmin Behzadi – has donated a range of sports equipment to sharpen the football skills of Ghanaian-based female football club, Jonina Football Club.

The donation, which forms part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the brand, is aimed at promoting youth development through sports and fostering local talent within the communities.



The sporting equipment presented includes football kits, training gear and other essential sports items expected to greatly benefit the Women’s Premier League female club.

Mr. Sabri Rezk expressed his commitment to supporting sports development, stating that the donation will provide a platform for young women footballers to hone their skills and potentially pursue careers in professional football.

Board Member of the club, Yasmin Behzadi, speaking at the donation event, emphasised the importance of supporting local initiatives that empower the youth.

“Sports play a crucial role in building leadership skills, instilling discipline and promoting teamwork spirit among the youth. We hope to inspire the next generation of football stars in Ghana, and believe this support would contribute immensely,” she said.

She also encouraged the young players to take their education seriously just like their football dreams.

The club, known for its dedication to nurturing young female football talents, welcomed the donation with gratitude. The president and CEO of Jonina FC, John Obiri Yeboah, noted that the contribution would help improve training conditions and give players a better chance to succeed on the field.

“This donation is a game-changer for us. It will allow our players to train under improved conditions and help us to achieve our long-term goals of success and development,” he remarked.

Mr. Sabri Rezk, an Italian/Libyan citizen, who has worked in Rome with frequent missions to Tripoli, Milan and Malta during such periods actively participated in important negotiations with Libyan and Italian high-ranking government officials.

On behalf of the Libyan National Oil Corporation, he was part of the negotiation of the ENI Green Stream gas pipeline between Libya and Sicily and various other projects.

Yasmin Behzadi is a Dubai-based businesswoman and philanthropist whose aim is to motivate young sports personalities across Africa to pursue sports and consider being educated to compete well on the world stage.

For over three years, she has consistently and single-handedly supported more young African players with sports equipment. She is also known to give young football talents platforms outside of Africa.
