Managing Director-Docutech Limited Jean-Louis Feghali has highlighted the importance of effective data security management as a critical concern for organisations navigating the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
According to him, security breaches can have costly consequences; not only at the personal level but also on a national scale. As such, he stressed the need for businesses to invest in solutions that can help control the flow of sensitive information.
“The amount of technology we use is big and it can get out of control at times. There is a lot of confidential data being shared through tools like WhatsApp – and that poses significant security risks,” he said.
The speaker emphasised that availability of tools to ensure security for data is key, adding that it not only enhances the data’s security but also strengthens connectivity securely at the national level.
Mr. Feghali further stressed that in today’s highly digitised business environment, data security should be a top priority for organisations – adding that the workforce must be equipped with knowledge and skills to manage risks associated with the latest technologies.
“Constant training and investment in the team is crucial. Employees need to be aware of threats and be able to utilise the right tools and solutions to protect sensitive information,” he said.
Speaking at the annual ‘Future of Work’ event organised by Docutech Limited under the theme ‘Unleashing the Power of Emerging Technologies’ he said it is important to engage with customers and keep them informed about market trends and industry standards, hence putting together such a programme.
He said the event serves as a platform to connect with their customer base and provide them with valuable insights into the evolving business landscape. The event also aims to facilitate open communication channels between the company and its customers.
“Technology is a part of our daily, weekly and even hourly operations. The amount of technology we use is significant….and it is crucial that we keep our customers informed about the latest developments,” he said.
Other speakers including Cybersecurity Consultant at PWC, Clement Tettey, and Director-Technical Services, National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Solomon Richardson underscored the vital role of IT in achieving sustainable growth.
They emphasised the need for aligning IT strategies with business objectives and highlighted the effective use of data to enhance decision-making – driving efficiency and competitiveness. Mr. Richardson stressed the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) across industries, urging businesses to prepare for its integration.
Additionally, a risk-based approach to cybersecurity was recommended to protect operations in the digital landscape. Participants were encouraged to prioritise clear communication and understanding during change management to facilitate smoother transitions to new technologies.
By hosting this annual event, the company aims to position itself as a trusted partner, committed to keeping its customers informed and engaged.
