CorpsAfrica/Ghana has sworn-in its third cohort of volunteers, marking the official induction of 44 young African graduates into a one-year volunteering service.

The group of volunteers, comprising 26 females and 18 males, includes six exchange volunteers from other African nation and embarks on a year-long journey to support rural communities across Ghana through community-led development initiatives.

After completing a rigorous six-week Pre-Service Training (PST), the volunteers demonstrated their readiness, skills and commitment as required to serve in challenging rural settings. The swearing-in ceremony marked their official induction into service, with each volunteer taking an oath to work alongside local communities in addressing critical needs and driving sustainable change.

The event was held in Accra, and brought together dignitaries from government, international organisations, development partners, ambassadors, high commissioners and board members. Distinguished guests were on hand to witness the volunteers receive their charge to serve and take up the responsibility of empowering communities through small-scale, high-impact initiatives.

Guests included Peace Corps Country Director, Dr. Tamu Daniel; Mastercard Foundation’s Country Director, Rica Rwigamba; and NDPC Vice Chairman, Hon. David Quaye Annan

CorpsAfrica volunteers play an essential role in helping connect rural communities with vital resources and opportunities for development. Over the next year they will focus on facilitating projects identified by the communities, working to improve livelihoods and strengthen local capacity.

Founded in 2013, CorpsAfrica has expanded its operations to 10 countries across Africa including Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Gambia, Uganda and South Africa.

CorpsAfrica is a non-profit organisation inspired by the Peace Corps model. It recruits and trains young Africans to volunteer in underserved communities across the continent, empowering them to lead community-driven development, build local capacity and foster cross-cultural collaboration to address critical challenges.
