Two indigenous companies – Ensol Energy and Eco Natural Resources – have formed a strategic partnership ‘chemical blending and storage facility’ to meet growing demand from the oil and gas industry.
The world-class 15 tonne capacity blending facility, named ‘2en Chemicals Limited’, will serve entities in areas such as the mining, food processing and gas sectors.
Also, the facility will create significant opportunities for stakeholders across the value chain – off-takers, suppliers, transporters and exporters within the sub-region.
Egbert Faibille, Chief Executive Officer-Petroleum Commission (PC), speaking at the facility’s inauguration ceremony at Kejebril in Ahanta West municipality, Western Region said :“When you see this facility, it means the indigenous Ghanaian companies can do better in the industry”.
He said 2en Chemicals Limited has done what is right; adding “These are the things that make the PC happy”.
“The Commission stands to support you on this journey; reinvest in the business when you make profit, we want to see more of such in the industry. We are13 years in oil production and there is need for the Ghanaian to do more,” he added.
Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, Western Regional Minister, on his part said the facility is a significant step toward promoting economic growth, self-reliance and value addition.
“By processing and storing chemicals here in Ghana, we are ensuring that we retain value within our borders while also contributing to the larger objective of transforming our economy – from one reliant on raw exports to one built on processing and manufacturing,” he said.
He stressed that establishments like this create jobs, develop skills and boost economic empowerment for the community.
He expressed confidence that the 2en Chemicals blending and storage facility will play a pivotal role in this journey toward prosperity.
Mr. Darko-Mensah commended 2en Chemicals Limited for their foresight and determination in bringing the project to life. “Your efforts are helping to drive the industrial transformation we are working toward as a nation.”
Ebenezer Kwaw, Director-Eco Natural Resources, added that the facility will address the evolving industry’s needs and contribute to economic growth.
“This joint venture embodies the shared values of innovation, excellence and sustainability that we have strived to establish in the forefront of Ghana and the sub-region for supply and management of chemical products,” he said.
The facility, he said, will contribute to local and economic growth, create jobs and play a significant role in the extractive sector as well as all chemical-usage industries in the country and globally.
Kofi Yalley, Chief Executive Officer-Ensol Energy said: “What we have done is a bold step; the goal is to go beyond Ghana in contributing to the country’s gross domestic product.”
