At the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Private Health Facilities Association of Ghana (PHFAoG), Cassona Global Imaging Company Limited, reassured these private healthcare providers of its commitment to support their technological procurement needs.
Speaking at the event held in Koforidua, Chief Executive Officer of Cassona Global, John Chigbu, painstakingly outlined the challenges facing the diagnostic imaging sector of the health industry, especially among the private health facilities after which he offered, innovative solutions championed by his outfit to address the challenges.
This elaborated tailored solutions outlined by Cassona to help the private health facilities acquire ultramodern equipment on credit among other after-sales services and training programmes inspired hope among these facility managers who expressed their excitement to partner with the institution to improve healthcare delivery to the public.
“We think the Private Health Association is an association of entrepreneurs, professionals and people in medical finance. The reason why Cassona thinks that private health is an important organisation is that it’s private and not public. The power they have is economic, social and political. Economic in the sense that, it helps to keep Ghanaians healthy and working. Therefore, it does contribute to the nation’s economy,” he said.
He emphasised that the diagnostic equipment Cassona is offering such as Ultrasound, X-rays, CT scanners, and MRI among others are tools that a doctor uses to diagnose and determine what an ailment is all about before treatment is administered.
“Diagnostic equipment is very important for detecting illnesses. It became very important to me because my mother died after her illness could not be diagnosed. That was what brought us here. We found out that regardless of the number of hospitals here, there was no Imaging equipment.
“If a doctor cannot determine what is wrong with a patient and the condition is critical then, the likelihood is the person may lose their life just like my mother did. So, when we are talking about imaging equipment, they are vital tools that the doctor need to efficiently do their job,” he stated.
The CEO stressed that the importance of this equipment means they should be present in Africa but unfortunately, they are not, because they are too expensive to buy hence his initiative to make it available.
Therefore, to make this equipment affordable for Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa, Cassona has decided to buy the best equipment that is not as highly-priced as some that come from developed countries. Furthermore, in terms of maintenance, the company has trained local engineers to maintain the equipment locally.
“Now after providing solutions for the above challenges, the next one is the money to buy the equipment. To solve this challenge, we decided to grant credit facilities so that with a down payment from our clients, we can finance the balance. That is how we do it all over the world no one pays cash. You pay a little down payment, and then you finance the rest and pay in installments,” he stressed.
This year’s AGM held from 18th to 20th September, was under the theme: “Adopting a data-driven decision-making culture as a tool to create a responsive healthcare system in Ghana: The role of private health facilities.”
Identifying stable electrical power as one major challenge in Africa which often shortens the lifespan of these machines, the brand has introduced uninterrupted power supply equipment.
He concluded that Cassona is in the process of establishing diagnostic centers so that there will be no challenge of Affordability.
