African Legends Night 2024 – All set for a historic night October 5

The stage is set, the lights are ready, and excitement is in the air as the countdown to the 2024 African Legends Night reaches its final stretch. On October 5, music lovers from across the country will gather at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre to celebrate Africa’s rich musical heritage with performances from some of the most iconic artists of our time.

This year’s edition of African Legends Night, organised by Global Media Alliance, promises to be a night of pure nostalgia and musical excellence. The event will feature legendary acts such as Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Okyeame Kwame, George Jahraa and Adane Best—each bringing their timeless hits to life in a show that honours the immense contributions of African music legends.

With rehearsals wrapped up and media engagements complete, all the artistes are ready to deliver electrifying performances that will take the audience on a journey through African music’s golden eras. From South Africa’s ‘Princess of AfricaYvonne Chaka Chaka, who is known for hits like ‘Umqombothi and I’m in Love with a DJ’, to Ghana’s own Okyeame Kwame, whose mastery of rap and highlife continues to captivate audiences, the line-up promises nothing short of an unforgettable experience.



Yvonne Chaka Chaka, expressed her excitement ahead of the show. “It feels wonderful to be back in Ghana for African Legends Night. This is a celebration of our music, our stories and our culture. I can’t wait to share the stage with my fellow legends.”

“This is more than just a performance—it’s about celebrating the legacy of African music. The audience should expect some surprises, some collaborations and a night full of magic. We’re ready,” said Okyeame Kwame.

Adane Best also said: “African Legends Night is always a special event. I’m looking forward to performing for such a passionate audience, and I know the energy in the room will be incredible”.

George Jahraa, known for his unique sound and stage presence, expressed his enthusiasm as well. “This night is a tribute to all the African legends who have paved the way for younger artists. I’m proud to be part of such an important celebration, and I can’t wait to connect with the fans.”

A celebration of African music heritage

Organised by Global Media Alliance, African Legends Night has become synonymous with excellence in music and entertainment, consistently delivering world-class performances that celebrate the best of African music.

The event has featured some of the continent’s most celebrated artists, including Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Freddie Meiway, Kanda Bongoman, Amakye Dede and Daddy Lumba, among others.

This year’s event is expected to attract an even larger audience, with fans eager to see their favourite legends perform live. The organisers have promised an experience that will not only celebrate African music’s past, but also inspire the next generation of musicians and music lovers.
