The National Secretariat of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) is set to host the Young Agripreneurs Conference, aimed at equipping graduate students and young professionals with the tools, knowledge, and connections necessary for success in the growing agribusiness sector.
The event is part of the “Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth” (HAPPY) Program, championed by the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Agri-Impact Limited.
The HAPPY Program seeks to create 326,000 dignified jobs for young people aged 15-35 in Ghana, with a focus on women and persons with disabilities in the agricultural sector.
The conference, organized by the HAPPY Program in collaboration with GRASAG, will take place across three campuses in Accra:
- University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA): 25th September, 2024
- Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA): 27th September 2024
- University of Ghana, Legon: 30th September, 2024
According to a press release from GRASAG, the conference aims to equip participants with practical skills and insights to enhance their career prospects in agribusiness.
Key activities include a sensitization workshop on job opportunities in agricultural value chains, resume development and interview skills clinics, and soft skills training focused on leadership, communication, and teamwork.
As the agribusiness sector continues to grow and offer significant job creation potential, this conference provides graduate students and young professionals with a unique opportunity to gain essential skills and build connections with industry leaders.
Whether participants are interested in starting their own agribusiness or seeking roles in the sector, the Young Agripreneurs Conference promises valuable knowledge and resources to guide them.
“GRASAG National is proud to be collaborating with the HAPPY Program to host the Young Agripreneurs Conference. We are excited about the opportunities it will create and the positive impact it will have on participants’ careers,” GRASAG added its press release.
