The Governance Africa Foundation (GAfF) has taken a significant step towards bolstering agricultural development in Ghana with a visit to Hunland Trade Kft in Hungary. The GAfF delegation, currently exploring potential partnerships, seeks technical support for the Schools and Homes Agric Revival Program (SHARP), an initiative aimed at engaging youth in agriculture through the establishment of model farms across Ghana’s 16 regions.
During the visit to the Hunland Training Center, the GAfF team discussed opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing in livestock management, feed technology, and modern farming techniques. While no formal agreement has been finalized, the visit marks an important phase in building relationships that could support the SHARP initiative’s long-term goals.
SHARP, spearheaded by GAfF, is designed to inspire youth involvement in agriculture by utilizing civic clubs in schools. These farms will serve as educational hubs, demonstrating modern agricultural practices and offering hands-on experience to students and local communities.
By exploring collaboration with Hunland, SHARP could benefit from the company’s expertise in feed management, livestock farming, and modern agricultural technologies, which aligns with its mission to promote sustainable agriculture in Ghana. The visit underscores the potential for stronger agricultural ties between Ghana and Hungary, with GAfF aiming to foster partnerships for knowledge exchange, technical assistance, and potential future joint ventures to transform Ghana’s agricultural sector.
GAfF is also in the process of engaging other agro-business stakeholders in Hungary to explore further possibilities for collaboration, particularly in areas like crop farming, processing, and agri-tech innovation.
