Poetry Corner: Application For Problems

You beg for favour of power

So you can power your way to the top with power

So you can tower over all in power

So all will cower under your power

So all will wonder at your absolute power

Be careful what you beg for

For your wish might just be granted

And granted your wish is granted

You might regret what you begged for

You desire to flower from lower to higher

You aim to be classed among the upper

From rags to class

You yearn to leap from the pit to the hilt

To the pinnacle of the heap

You crave to spring from grass to grace

For a dignified embrace of easy passage

Be careful what you yearn for

For your wish might just be granted

And granted your wish is granted

You might regret what you yearned for

You toil to be transferred from the downtrodden to the upper echelon

You dream to rise from the fringes to be with the princes

You rant from relegation to be promoted to lead the delegation

You supplicate to skip the tail to escalate to be the head

In a hurdle of haste

Be careful what you toil for

For your wish might just be granted

And granted your wish is granted

You might regret what you toiled for

You risk even to be with the bees in the boughs of the trees

Just to scoop all the honey

You mine, and you continue to mine in the gulley

Just to take all the money

You sacrifice the fresh vine for the fine wine

Just to walk the fine line between half-truths and half-lies

You join the conman

Just to learn his cunning plans

You mean to take all of mine

Just to make it all yours

Be careful what you risk for

For your wish might just be granted

And granted your wish is granted

You might regret what you risked for
