A group of about 60 Ghanaians and other nationals resident in the US, UK, Canada and other countries have accused Sucasa Properties, a real estate company in Ghana of reneging on an agreement to build houses for them within four months after payment.
Over 60 aggrieved clients of Sucasa Properties are accusing the real estate company and its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Michael Owusu Ograntson of breach of contract and are calling on him to deliver the houses immediately or they would take legal action against him.
According to the group of frustrated and highly disappointed clients, they paid various sums of money to Sucasa Properties for 3 and 4 bedroom units a couple of years ago, but the company has failed to deliver on promise.
A spokesperson for the group, Mr. Derrick Neufville made the allegation in an interaction with media in Accra .
“Sucasa Properties were supposed to have delivered the houses within 4 months after payment, according to the contract of engagement.
That means the houses should have been handed over in April 2023 for some clients, and even earlier than that for others.”
“But the company has unilaterally rescheduled the delivery date 4 times, coming up with one excuse after the other each time. Indeed nobody knows how long this is going to continue,” he said.
Mr. Neufville claims the company’s failure to deliver the houses, in spite of the fact that most of the clients have paid the full amount, while others have kept faithfully to the payment schedule, is causing a lot of anxiety and discomfort to members of the group.
He said they incur unnecessarily expensive hotel bills anytime they visited Ghana. Some of them have to put up with friends and family each time they visit Ghana, and this is causing a lot of embarrassment to them.
“We are calling on Mr. Ograntson and Sucasa Properties to deliver the houses or we will advise ourselves,” he said.
Another groups of clients in the US have already taken legal action against Sucasa Properties for a similar breach of contract.
