In a remarkable act of compassion, The Ladies Association of GCB Bank PLC has extended significant financial support to Annellie Danso, enabling her to undergo vital surgery at the Oral and Maxillofacial Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The formal presentation took place at the hospital.

Annellie Danso, who has been grappling with a severe and complex oral and maxillofacial condition known as Bilateral Temporomandibular Joint Ankylosis, requires surgery that is critical to her health and future well-being.

This is a condition where both joints that connect the jaw to the skull become stuck or fused together. When this occurs, it can be hard to move your jaw, which means you might have trouble opening your mouth wide, chewing, or talking.

Understanding the urgency of her situation, the Ladies Association stepped forward to cover the full cost of the surgery. This generous support exemplifies the Bank’s unwavering commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to uplifting members of the community during their most challenging times.

Pearl Tabua Benning, President of the Ladies Association expressed the Bank’s heartfelt commitment to supporting Annellie. “At GCB Bank, we believe that every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to inspire hope and healing” she remarked.

The unit’s medical team, led by Rev. Dr. Matthew Boamah, explained the patient’s condition in detail, highlighting the complexity of the surgery and its significance in restoring her health. He expressed profound gratitude to the Ladies Association and the Bank for the timely intervention.

“This support is not just financial; it’s a lifeline for Annellie. The surgery is critical, and thanks to your generosity, we can now proceed with the confidence that she will receive the best possible care.” he said.

While in the spirit of appreciation, Annellie’s mother, overwhelmed with emotion, also expressed her deep gratitude to the Ladies Association and the Bank.

This initiative reflects the Bank’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility, focusing on health, education, sports, environment and culture. The Bank continues to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals across the country, ensuring that those in need are not left behind.

In attendance were key members of the GCB Bank Ladies Association and Corporate Affairs team.
