MultiChoice Ghana has officially kicked off the 2024/25 Football Season with a vibrant launch event and a thrilling watch party for stakeholders and football enthusiasts.

The launch, which was held on Friday, 16 August 2024, included a live viewing of the Premier League curtain-raiser between Manchester United and Fulham. The forecourt of the MultiChoice Ghana head office was transformed into a mini stadium with multiple screens and dazzling lights, creating an electrifying atmosphere.

Alex Okyere, Managing Director of MultiChoice Ghana, expressed enthusiasm for the return of international football on DStv and GOtv after a 70-day hiatus. He highlighted that over 3,000 live games from 14 leagues and competitions will be broadcast, promising fans a season full of goals, drama, and unforgettable moments.

“This football season promises to be even more exhilarating than the last, with an incredible lineup of leagues, tournaments, and matches that will keep DStv, GOtv and Showmax viewers on the edge of their seat.

“Experience the fast-paced action of the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A, as well as the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League on SuperSport, as well as the Scottish, Turkish, and Belgian leagues on ESPN,” he added.

Mr. Okyere reaffirmed MultiChoice’s dedication to delivering exceptional football experiences and urged viewers to support legitimate sources. “Piracy and illegal streaming undermine legitimate businesses,” he said, emphasising the importance of consuming content through authorised channels.

The launch event attracted a large crowd, including key stakeholders, football fans, and representatives from various Premier League club supporters in Ghana. Notable attendees included veteran sports presenter Karl Tuffuor and SuperSport’s Juliet Bawuah, alongside panelists Akosua Adjei, Daniel Koranteng, and Kelvin Owusu Ansah-Opoku. The event culminated in Manchester United’s 1-nil victory over Fulham.

In the lead-up to the launch, MultiChoice Ghana staff engaged in exciting activities and jersey-themed photo sessions, with some winning prizes before the official season kick-off.
