In an effort to address health disparities and enhance solutions across the healthcare supply chain, the Health Community of West Africa (HCOWA) is excited to announce the ‘2024 HCOWA West Africa Medical Industry Investment Summit and Expo,’ taking place from August 26 to 28, 2024, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

This prestigious event is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Central Regional Coordinating Council, Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, and the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies.

The summit and expo will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including manufacturers of medical equipment, devices, consumables, pharmaceuticals, diagnostic equipment, health and wellness products, biotechnology, healthcare IT, and regulatory bodies. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase and exhibit their products and services.

Notably, twenty-three Chinese factories representing various segments of the healthcare value chain will be present, displaying their latest and most advanced medical equipment and devices. This participation is expected to contribute significantly to the regional development of West Africa.

Under the theme “Moving Forward: Pioneering New Paths for the Medical and Health Industry in West Africa,” the summit aims to foster collaboration among hospitals, manufacturers, and other healthcare professionals. It will promote advancements in healthcare facilities, ensure a steady supply of medical equipment, and engage in academic research on health issues. The event also seeks to boost trade in healthcare between Ghana, the West African community, and China.

Anna Jiang, Chief Executive Officer of HCOWA, expressed her enthusiasm for the expo’s potential impact on the healthcare landscape.

She highlighted the event’s opportunities, including medical equipment leasing, funding support, technical training, and direct engagement with pharmaceutical and equipment manufacturers.

The summit will feature a range of activities, including exhibitions, a forum on women’s and children’s health, discussions on infectious diseases such as AIDS and malaria, an enterprise presentation show, and the HCOWA West Africa Medical Health Industry Park Policy Introduction and Investment Summit.

Organizers anticipate that the expo will serve as a catalyst for positive change in the healthcare sector, encouraging active participation from medical doctors, hospitals, and other stakeholders committed to advancing healthcare.

The event promises to enhance healthcare services, promote innovative solutions, and foster a collaborative environment for healthcare professionals and industry players.
