…engages youth groups and assembly members

In an effort to create a single platform for the rollout of plans to empower the youth, Nene Teye Nartey I, the recently enstooled Youth Chief of Prampram, on Tuesday, met with assembly members in the various electoral areas, youth groups, and opinion leaders, to discuss workable plans that will inure to the benefit of the town’s youth.
At his outdooring ceremony, Nene Nartey I, who is also the Chief Executive of Joe Nartey Group of Companies, promised to work together for the good of the town’s youth. But he said he was going to need the collective hands from the youth, to help fulfill the plans he has.
Prampram, like any other town in the country, has its fair share of unemployed youth most of whom have fallen into the use of drugs as a way of escaping the harsh economic conditions, and joblessness. There is also the issue of rising teenage
In an open and frank discussion, some of the assembly members raised the alarming increase in drug abuse among the youth. It was noted that this disturbing trend has led to a rise in criminal activities within the town. The assembly members expressed their deep worry about the future of Prampram’s younger generation, urging the youth chief to take swift action.
In response, the Youth Chief assured the assembly members that he is fully aware of the situation and is already taking steps to address the issue. He emphasized that his leadership would focus on creating more opportunities for the youth, including educational and vocational training programs that would steer them away from negative influences. Furthermore, the youth chief mentioned that collaborations with local law enforcement and community leaders would be strengthened to curb the menace of drug abuse and associated criminal activities.
Another critical issue brought to the fore was the ongoing tension between various groups within the town. This tension, if left unchecked, could potentially disrupt the peace and harmony that Prampram is known for, especially as the homowo festival approaches.
Nene Teye Nartey I called for unity and cooperation among all factions. He highlighted the importance of the homowo festival as a time for celebration and reflection, urging everyone to come together to make the event a success. He also assured the assembly that he would work closely with traditional leaders, including Asafoatse Djaban IV and Sentse Ablade of the kley division, who were in attendance, to mediate and resolve any conflicts that may arise.
Nene Teye Nartey I also used the occasion to express his gratitude to the Paramount Chief of Prampram, Nene Tetteh Wakah III, for bestowing upon him the opportunity to serve as the Youth Chief of Prampram.
He acknowledged the immense responsibility that comes with the role and pledged to uphold the values and traditions of the Prampram Traditional Area. The Youth Chief emphasized that his leadership would be guided by the wisdom and guidance of the Paramount Chief, as well as the collective input of the community.
As the town prepares for the homowo festival, there is a renewed sense of optimism that under the guidance of the new youth chief, prampram will not only preserve its rich cultural heritage but also build a brighter future for its youth. The collaborative efforts of all stakeholders, from traditional leaders to assembly members, will be crucial in ensuring that the town remains peaceful and prosperous.
