Sekyere Rural Bank CEO wins ‘Most Respected CEO Award’ in rural banking

The CEO of Sekyere Rural Bank PLC in Ashanti Region, Micheal Aidoo, has been adjudged the Most Respected CEO – Rural Banking Category at the 4th Edition of the Africa’s Most Respected CEOs Awards.

The Africa’s Most Respected CEOs Award is the largest awards scheme embarked upon by The Business Executive.

This year’s edition was organised under the theme: “Energizing the African Corporate Community to Revolutionize Industrialization” which brought together the cream de la cream of corporate Africa, comprising award winning CEOs and their guests as well as representatives of multilateral trade and investment institutions including AfCFTA itself.



This covered both intra African activities and business/economic relations between Africa and other regions of the world and global economic activity.

Top tier representatives of the diplomatic community in Africa, top leaders of thought and civil society in Africa and the international media were also in attendance.

The event  provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to establish continent-wide personal and professional reputations and exemplary corporate images for the institutions they lead.

Per the selection criteria, Michael Aidoo obtained more recognition than other nominees in the Rural Banking category and consequent to that decision, the prestigious award was conferred on him at an Awards Night held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Michael Aidoo is the Chief Executive Officer of Sekyere Rural Bank Plc, a position he has held since July 2018. He joined the Bank in 2005 as Internal Audit Officer and by dent of hard work and exceptional performance, he rose through the ranks until appointed unto his current position.

Michael is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG). He holds an MBA in Finance from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Business School, Kumasi, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounting Option) from the Christian Service University College in Kumasi, an affiliate of the University of Ghana.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, Ghana. He has attended numerous local and international training programs in Internal Audit and Controls, Risk Management, Accounting, Banking Law and Practice, Strategic Management among others.
