ASA extends educational support to 50 customers’ wards

ASA Savings and Loans, a leading financial institution, has provided financial support to 50 brilliant but needy students from 10 localities in the Greater Accra Region.

Beneficiaries were drawn from communities such as Nima, Maamobi, Accra Newtown, Kotobabi, Pig Farm, Osu, Lapaz, Abeka, Kwashieman, Awoshie, Bubuashie.

An amount of GH¢ 50,000 was disbursed to the beneficiaries, with each beneficiary receiving GH¢ 1,000.



Speaking at a short ceremony at Maamobi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASA Savings and Loans, Mr. Mohammed Aourongjeb said, ASA was committing a portion of its profit to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, focusing on health, education, and environmental protection. “We are presenting these funds to be invested in the education of the children of our loyal and high-performing clients to express our appreciation for their patronage”, Mr Aourongjeb said.

At the other ceremony at 5 25 cheques were presented, Madam Joana Odei-Larbi who is the Divisional Manager, disclosed that the support from the company aligns with United Nations SDG-Goal 4: Quality Education.

A dedicated trader and customer who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, Leticia Amoo, acknowledged the significant role the company has played in fostering the growth of women-led businesses, including hers.

“As a single parent, ASA support has been instrumental in expanding my business, which has enabled me to cater for my children’s fees and upkeep, from the Primary School through to the university,” she said.

CSR/Sustainability Manager of ASA Savings and Loans, Richard Nartey, reiterated the fact that the company has supported various basic and 2nd cycle institutions across the country in the form of teaching and learning materials.

At the events were Area Managers; Pope Neequaye and Harriet Quaye, and Branch Managers; Salma Attick, Mavis Okrah as well as Prince Oparah.
