Serene Insurance opens Takoradi branch

Serene Insurance Company Limited, a member of the First Sky Group has opened a new branch, at Takoradi in the Western Region.

The opening of the branch, serves as part of the company’s growth and expansion drive of bringing insurance to the door step of the people.



Already, the company has agencies within the region that coordinate various activities in terms of products and services.

“Coming into Takoradi seems to be long overdue, we must be here as an important region in the scheme of things. We are happy we made it this year” Mrs. Mercy Naa Koshie Boampong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Serene Insurance Company Limited.

She said the company, has positioned itself as an insurer of choice, redefining the Ghanaian Insurance landscape through prompt claim settlement and customer- focused service delivery.

“We pay genuine claims when ell relevant documents are submitted” she reiterated.

According to Mrs. Boampong, the company within its six years of existence has chalked lots of successes and is convinced of a brighter future.

In 2022, she said the company, was adjudged the fastest insurance growing company in the country.

She mentioned some of the company’s products and service such as fire, marine, travel, general accidents and bonds, property among others.

Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse, Executive Chairman of the First Sky Group, said the setting up of the insurance company in the region is to create jobs and advance the growth and prosperity agenda of the area.

He said the company will form strategic alliance and partnerships in ensuring that the envisage growth pole is achieved.

Mr. Kutortse said Serene Insurance has come to redefine public perception about insurance in the country through a new service culture. We are going to work with you in aged old tested principles of integrity and honesty.

Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Western Region Minister said insurance plays a crucial role in the economic stability and development of any society.

“It provides a safety net for individuals, families and businesses against unexpected event that could otherwise lead to financial ruin “he said.

He said the Western Regional Coordinating Council is poised and committed to collaborating with First Sky Group in building a strong Serene Insurance brand within the region.

“We are ready to actively engage and assist on fostering its growth, leveraging our resources, expertise and networks to ensure its success” he said.

Mr. Justice Peprah Agyei, the Regional Manager of the National Insurance Commission, expressed delight at the rapid growth and expansion of Serene Insurance. He commended the Executive Chairman for his good work towards humanity.

He emphasized the importance of insurance in Ghana, particularly motor insurance. He noted that statistics from the NIC shows that many people have received compensation through insurance, and without it, their lives would have taken a downward turn.

Also, he addressed the rise in fatalities from road accidents, citing statistics from a recent road safety authority report. Additionally, he reminded the audience that without insurance, the families of accident victims, who are often the primary breadwinners, would struggle to cope.

He stressed that insuring one’s vehicle goes a long way in providing compensation to accident victims.

Mr. Agyei mentioned that the NIC has a presence in the region and so, anyone with grievances can address them through the Commission for resolution.

He added that this will foster confidence in doing business with insurance companies. He officially welcomed Serene Insurance to the region and encouraged them to contribute positively to the insurance industry.
