Royal Africa Awards recognises GCYE’s Sherif Ghali, Agyenim Boateng

Sherif Ghali, CEO and founder of the Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs (GCYE) and Chairperson of the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs-Africa (CAYE-Africa), along with Ernest Agyenim Boateng, the Chairperson of the Chamber’s Governing Council, have been recognised by the Royal Africa Awards.

This esteemed recognition was presented by the Ooni of Ife, one of Africa’s most venerated leaders, during the Royal African Young Leadership Forum.

The Royal Africa Awards, known for acknowledging outstanding contributions to the continent’s development, honored Mr. Ghali and Mr. Boateng for their impactful work in nurturing young entrepreneurs in Ghana and across Africa. Their dedication to fostering entrepreneurial spirit and creating opportunities for the youth has positioned them as pivotal figures in the continent’s economic and social progress.



The Ooni of Ife, who has long been a champion of African unity and progress, commended the awardees for their relentless efforts in fostering change in Africa. In his address, he highlighted the critical role of unity and partnership in driving economic growth and reducing unemployment among the youth, urging more support for such initiatives across Africa.

Mr. Ghali, upon receiving the award, expressed his gratitude to the King and reiterated his commitment to furthering the cause of young entrepreneurs in Africa. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication we all put in place in various fields. This is to inspire us to continue good work and for me particularly, it is wakeup call to  focus more on my mission to create a conducive environment for entrepreneurship in Ghana and across Africa,” he stated.

The ceremony also saw the recognition of other notable figures, including the Minister of Youth of Nigeria and several key young political figures from Nigeria, alongside 100 other young Africans who are making significant strides in various fields. These awards underscore the diverse and dynamic contributions of young Africans to the continent’s development.

The Royal African Young Leadership Forum serves as a platform to celebrate and encourage the next generation of African leaders. By recognizing individuals and organizations that make substantial impacts, it aims to inspire more young Africans to take bold steps in shaping the future of their countries.

Mr. Ghali’s leadership in the GCYE has seen numerous initiatives aimed at equipping young people with the skills, resources, and networks needed to succeed in business. Similarly, through CAYE-Africa, he has been instrumental in advocating for policies that support young entrepreneurs across the Commonwealth.

As Africa continues to navigate its development challenges, the contributions of young leaders like Mr. Ghali and his colleagues are vital. Their work not only empowers individuals but also contributes to the broader economic and social transformation of the continent.
