Ghana’s premier petroleum haulage company, J. K Horgle and Co. Limited has been crowned the ‘Most Outstanding Transport Company of The Year’ at the maiden edition of the Ghana Downstream Awards (GDA) and gala night held in Accra.
Imposing its dominance as a powerhouse in the industry, the Group CEO of J. K Horgle Transport and Co., Joseph K. Horgle also received a special honourary award for his outstanding efforts as a pioneer in the haulage of petroleum products across the country.
The prestigious award signifies Joseph Horgle’s stunning leadership qualities and exceptional dedication to providing quality transport systems for the petroleum industry and also for being an extremely respected personality advocating for best business practices in the sector.
The Downstream Gala and Awards Night is a pioneering awards scheme designed to promote compliance within the petroleum industry and to acknowledge both individual and institutional contributions to the growth and sustainability of the sector.
The event was a climax to the 2024 Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GHiPCon) held on 17th- 18th July, organised by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) in collaboration with the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distribution (CBOD) and the Association of Oil and Marketing Companies (AOMC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy.
It brought together all the industry stakeholders to synergies and pull resources from each other and also celebrate and promote a high level of ethics within the sector.
Speaking to the Media after receiving the all-important honours, Joseph K. Horgle was extremely grateful for such a wonderful recognition of the highest magnitude.
According to him, the award reflects the company’s unwavering focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations while adhering to rigorous quality standards over the years.
“I am indeed grateful for such a great recognition at this highest milestone. I started from a humble beginning in 1976 but now, I am extremely overwhelmed with this great achievement over the years. I dedicate this to my staff and cherished clients across the country,” he said.
