The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has inducted new members and chartered marketers after they completed professional marketing courses with the institute in December last year and June this year.

30 chartered marketers and 86 new marketers were inducted as members of CIMG during the induction ceremony held in Accra. One fellow member was inducted for the periods of December 2023 and June 2024.

The induction event honoured the commitment of marketers who had finished their post-qualification continuing professional development course and had several years of experience practicing or instructing at advanced levels.

The National President-CIMG, Dr. Daniel Kasser Tee, in his address to the new members urged them to uphold high standards and change industry narratives by putting the concepts learned into effect in professional practice.

He urged them to support their respective organisations in avoiding dishonest marketing practices in order to add value for customers.

“I urge you all to help your organisations steer clear of unprofessional marketing conduct in favour of sound strategies to create customer value as a means to growing businesses,” he stated.

“This will help you build stronger relationships with your customers as customer satisfaction will be guaranteed, which will in turn promote customer loyalty,” he added

In order to support and advance their jobs as marketers, Mr. Tee also urged CIMG members to embrace new and emerging technologies – especially the rapidly developing field of artificial intelligence (AI).

“AI offers unprecedented opportunities for you to gain deeper insights into customer behaviour, enhance personalisation and optimise marketing strategies. By leveraging AI you can stay ahead of the curve, ensuring your marketing efforts are innovative, customised and effective,” he said.

Delivering the address on behalf of newly inducted members and chartered marketers, Deputy Director-Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), Nana Ama Poku, commended the Membership and Welfare Committee as well as CIMG Governing Council for giving assistance during their careers.

She revealed that those who had come before them accomplished amazing feats and established high standards, leaving a legacy that inspires them to strive for the same.

She said: “The roles taken up today require that we serve with unwavering dedication, integrity and transparency. As a community bound by a shared purpose, we pledge to give our best and distinguish ourselves with integrity and transparency”.

She urged CIMG members to embrace their journey with a common goal and dedication to the Institute, as well as use their combined abilities as role-models in their diverse fields of expertise. Meanwhile, she emphasised how crucial marketing is to successful firms.

“Marketing is the oxygen that sustains businesses, helping them identify opportunities for growth and make sense of markets and consumer behaviour. Let us be worthy suppliers of this much needed oxygen as we chart a course toward progress, growth and success. I am optimistic about our future and excited to be a part of this journey with you all,” she said.
