National Sales Leaders Conference launched to drive innovation and growth

The National Sales Leaders Conference (NSLC) has been officially launched to foster the exchange of innovative and creative techniques to drive growth in sales and marketing.

Scheduled to take place in Accra from August 14-15, 2024, it aims at uniting and empowering sales professionals across Ghana and beyond through embracing collective potentials, leveraging strengths, and shaping the future of sales leadership.



General Manager of Core events Solutions Ltd., Clarus Kwofie the conference organiser envisioned the gathering as a platform for continuous learning, networking, and innovation, with the ultimate goal of positioning Ghana as a hub for sales expertise and leadership in Africa.

He revealed that the theme for the maiden edition is “Sales Unleashed: The Role of Sales in Sustained Organisational Revenue Growth and Economic Development”.

In an address, the Chief Executive Officer of MGA Consulting Ghana Limited, key sponsor of the conference, Michael Abbiw highlighted the significant gap in the sales industry in Ghana—a lack of a unified platform for sales professionals to learn, share insights, and elevate their skills.

This realisation, he said led to the vision of NSLC, hence will not be just an event but a movement dedicated to uniting and empowering sales professionals.

He further underscored the importance of building relationships, understanding needs, and delivering value in sales, advocating for a community where knowledge is freely shared and sales challenges are collectively addressed.

He expressed confidence in the conference’s potential to set new benchmarks in sales excellence and transform challenges into opportunities.

Mr. Kwabena Agyekum, Registrar and CEO of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), reiterated the significance of the conference in driving growth and innovation within organisations and the broader economy.

He explained that thriving organisations will contribute to the economy through job creation, investments, and innovation, with each successful sale representing a step forward for the entire economy.

To truly harness the power of sales, Mr. Agyekum stressed the importance of continuous training and development for sales teams, emphasising that sales professionals must adopt a strategic approach, aligning their activities with broader business objectives, leveraging technology, and building strong customer relationships.

Adapting to the evolving landscape

General Manager Distribution of Allianz Life Insurance, Jane Kitome also emphasised the evolving sales and marketing environment, driven by shifting consumer behaviors, and stressed the need for innovative strategies to achieve sustainable growth.

She also highlighted the critical role of sales leaders in building trust and understanding client needs, pointing out that modern customers seek authenticity and value.

She further advocated for creativity in sales, using diverse channels to engage clients effectively.

She encouraged active participation in the conference for valuable insights and connections, stressing the importance of adaptability, integrity, trust, and excellence.

For his part, a market research specialist, Isaac Gwumah highlighted the importance of the conference in fostering innovation and driving progress in commerce, commending the organisers for their dedication and hard work.

He maintained staying ahead in the rapidly evolving marketplace and making informed decisions, underlining the critical role of the NSLC in equipping participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.
