Lawyer Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi has provided capital support of GH¢420,000 to 420 traders in his constituency at Sekondi.
The capital support, is a grant facility, provided through the Egyapa Care Foundation as part of his birthday celebration.
Each, of the 420 traders who ply their trade at Sekondi market, were presented with GH¢1,000.
Lawyer Mercer explained that the Egyapa Care Foundation, was established to support the livelihoods of his constituents and empower them to succeed in their various businesses.
“I am committed to make tangible impact in the lives of my constituents, so this cash gift, is a token of my appreciation for your hard work and dedication and I hope it will help grow your businesses and help provide for your families”.
He advised the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously to ensure that their business goals are achieved.
The market women commended and showered praise on the MP for the gesture. One of the recipients Madam Janet Okai who was excited said “Bobo is a God-sent, he is loving, caring, generous and God-fearing. It’s for these reasons we call him Egyapa”.
