Work on the Operational Headquarters of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), which started in 2020, is about 99 percent complete.

The one percent left is some additional furniture to furnish the place, and very soon the building will be commissioned.

This was made known when Mr. Joseph Dadzie, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GNPC, paid a working visit to inspect GNPC Operational Headquarters in Takoradi.

He expressed satisfaction with work done by the contractor and other partners. “The contractor together with the GNPC works department has done a great job and I am very much impressed,” he said.

He said the quality of work put into the building will help staff improve on productivity. “It is imperative for GNPC to have an operational headquarters in Takoradi since oil companies such as Tullow and Kosmos have offices in the Western Region, which happens to be very instrumental in oil production. Therefore, the Corporation having an operational office in the Western Region is a brilliant initiative,” Mr. Dadzie said.

He commended the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, for being instrumental in getting the GNPC land to put up the Operational Headquarters.

Visit to the House of Chiefs

During the CEO’s visit to the Western Regional House of Chiefs Vice President, Awulae Angama Tu-Agyan II, commended GNPC for the great corporate social responsibility work they are doing in the region, such as schools, hospitals and other projects.

He also expressed joy that the new CEO, following his appointment, has paid a visit to the House of Chiefs to intensify the relationship existing between the House and GNPC.

He reiterated the need for GNPC to have consistent engagement with the chiefs to deliberate on issues that are of concern to the House and the Corporation.

This, he believes, will go a long way to help address and complete other projects left undone and also intensify the cordial relationship between both parties as well as development of the country.

Tetrete Akuamoah Sekyi II, President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, also applauded the Corporation for projects it has undertaken in the Western Region.
