Ghana’s insurance industry hosted top officials of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). The visitors included the institute President Tracy Adedeji and the Senior Director Rajesh Narayan at the National Insurance Commission (NIC) recently, 5th – 11th May,2024.
The CPCU Society is a global association of risk management and insurance professionals, committed to promoting excellence in the insurance industry worldwide. Ghana is the first country in Africa to host the CPCU Society President visit an African country.
The visit also gave Ghanaians Insurance practitioners an opportunity to be introduced to the West African CPCU Society candidate Justice Peprah Adjei and the rest leadership which include; Peter Dennis CPCU, Abubakar Salifu CPCU, Daniel Osei-Agyemang CPCU, Mubarik Ibrahim CPCU and Jedidiah Nachinab CPCU.
The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, globally recognized for expertise in the insurance field, symbolizes a dedication to continuous learning, ethical practice, and high professional standards.
The West African CPCU Society Candidate Chapter serves as a platform for insurance professionals, CPCU designees, and aspiring candidates. It offers opportunities for networking, professional development, and knowledge sharing. The visit also featured a well experienced professional presenting on the topic, cyber risk: predict and prevent.
The CPCU Society is a US based one with a primary objective of the West African Chapter to organize educational seminars, workshops and webinars to enhance the knowledge and skills of insurance professionals and facilitate networking opportunities for professionals to exchange ideas, foster collaboration and promote innovation in the industry. To engage in community outreach and corporate social responsibility activities, promoting insurance literacy and awareness.
Additionally, the chapter will also be a strong voice for the insurance sector, advocating for policies and regulations that enhance the industry’s growth and stability. To provide support and resources to individuals pursuing the CPCU designation, including mentorship programs.
