Mireku Duker supports PWD’s to mark his birthday celebration

George Mireku Duker, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa Nsuaem has presented 10-wheel chairs, 11 crutches and undisclosed amount of money to Persons with Disability to mark his birthday celebration.

The occasion, attracted members of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organization, some MP’s, executives and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality, Ministers of the Gospel, individuals among others.



It was all joy when Gospel Music Artists such as Uncle Ebo, Philipa Baafi and Obaapa Christie took their turns to entertain the guests with music.

Also, Mr. Duker wine, dine, and danced with the Persons with Disability to put smiles on their faces.

The birthday celebrant, who is also the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources in his remark said “today happens to be special day in my life and I want to share my happiness with you people. Am grateful to God for his protection and guidance all these years”.

He encouraged Persons With Disability not to be sad or despair but put their trust in God that they have life.

He urged institutions to consider them when putting up a new building so they will be able to access it.

“I will also urge all Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts Assemblies (MMDA’s) to release three percent of the common fund, allocated to PWD’s on time before they pursue other projects” he added.

Daniel Okyere, President of Ghana Federation of Disabled Organization, Tarkwa Nsuaem said “we are excited about the wheel chairs and the crutches but we will appeal to other institutions to support us with the motorized wheel chairs to enable some of our members move about”.

He said the MP, has been supporting the association ever since he came into office. ” We are grateful and we wish him many fruitful years ahead”.
