Propak Ghana has officially launched its 2024 trade exhibition, offering innovative solutions and technologies to professionals in the manufacturing and packaging industries.

The Managing Director of Montgomery Group – the organisers of the event, Alexander Angus, highlighted that Propak Ghana 2024 has strategically aligned its objectives to facilitate the sharing of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the industry.

He outlined that Propak aims to position the country as the leading supplier of consumer packaging in West Africa. By advocating for quality and sustainable packaging solutions, Propak seeks to pave the way for Ghana to emerge as a trailblazer in providing packaging services to manufacturers across the region.

This strategic initiative not only aligns with Propak’s vision, but also underscores Ghana’s potential to enhance its status as a key player in the packaging industry within West Africa.

“Our objective is clear: to establish Propak as a key support platform for Ghana’s efforts to enhance the output of the ‘Made in Ghana’ brand and expand its exports within the region and beyond. There’s no doubt about the opportunity for Ghana to become the primary supplier of consumer packaging to West Africa, leading the provision of quality, sustainable packaging solutions to manufacturers in the region,” he stated.

Mr. Angus highlighted how his outfit’s approach can support Ghana’s goal of transitioning from a natural resource-dependent economy to one driven by value-added exports.

He explained that this strategy requires investment in manufacturing, modern equipment, and human capital to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in production.

Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), emphasised that Propak 2024 offers more than just an exhibition; it addresses a significant knowledge gap. She underscored the importance of collaborative efforts, meaningful dialogues and mutual capacity-building to benefit the manufacturing sector.

Propak Ghana provides a crucial platform for Ghanaian entrepreneurs to showcase the quality of their goods and services. It is an international exhibition dedicated to the country’s manufacturing industries, offering suppliers and service providers the opportunity to showcase cutting-edge products, technology and services. The event also facilitates networking and collaboration among industry players.

During the three-day event, visitors can explore the latest innovations from regional and international suppliers, engage with technical experts and witness live demonstrations of machinery and solutions.

Seth Twum-Akwaboah, CEO of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), commended the organisers of Propak Ghana 2024 for their significant contributions to the manufacturing and packaging industry. He highlighted the positive outcomes experienced by participants in previous events and expressed confidence in the success of this year’s edition.
