Hope for Future Generations (HFFG) has called upon the government to make significant financing investments towards achieving immunization sovereignty, as part of the 2024 Immunization Week celebration.

Under the theme “Humanly Possible: Saving Lives through Immunization,” this year’s celebration highlights the profound impact of immunization on human life. As the country transitions within GAVI’s Accelerated Transition Phase, increasing domestic resource mobilization for vaccine procurement and immunization service delivery becomes paramount.

HFFG praised the government for partial payments towards its co-financing obligation this year but emphasized the urgency of settling the arrears by midyear. Timely financing is crucial for vaccine procurement, infrastructure development, and global health security.

The organization stressed the importance of sufficient funds for primary healthcare, which strengthens health systems and outreach programs, ensuring vaccination campaigns reach even the most underserved communities.

Reflecting on progress and challenges, HFFG reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for greater domestic resource mobilization and increased accountability to reach zero-dose children and enhance immunization coverage.

Hope for Future Generations, a longstanding NGO dedicated to improving the well-being of women, children, and young people, continues its collaboration with the government and stakeholders to advance public health goals and sustainable development.

As the Immunization Week celebration unfolds, HFFG invites everyone to join in celebrating the impact of immunization and renewing the collective commitment to saving lives through vaccination efforts.
