Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd, a leading distributor of heavy and light-duty trucks, has officially introduced the latest range of Shantui products to the domestic market.

These cutting-edge machines, manufactured by the renowned equipment giant Shantui in China, are specifically designed to meet the growing construction and mining demands in Ghana.

The launch event, held in Accra, saw the unveiling of several robustly built machines, including road rollers, motor graders, bulldozers, and excavators.

Yang Yang, Managing Director of Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd, expressed confidence in the partnership between her company and Shantui, noting the significant boost it would provide to their market share.

The collaboration aims to address the need for large-scale mining machinery in Ghana, thereby reducing the cost of importing equipment for mining companies. Additionally, the provision of excellent after-sales service and ample spare parts stock by Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd is expected to enhance operational efficiency for miners.

“Before, we were only dealing with tipper trucks and trailer heads, primarily satisfying contractors. However, with the addition of Shantui machinery, we now cater not only to contractors but also to the construction and mining industries,” stated Madam Yang.

Eric Fann, Shantui’s Africa Regional Manager, highlighted the quality and reliability of Shantui products, emphasizing their suitability for Ghana’s mining sector.

He urged Ghanaians to patronize these products, citing Ghana’s fast-growing market and abundant resources as favorable factors for Shantui’s entry into the country.

“Shantui products are among the top fifty globally popular machinery brands, and we have decided to partner with Zonda Tec because the Ghanaian market is rapidly expanding, with abundant resources such as land, a large population, and friendly citizens. We have analyzed that the Ghanaian market will develop rapidly in the near future,” Mr. Fann added.

Isaac Ofori Poku, Executive Board Chairman of Ghana Bauxite Company, commended Zonda Tec for local assembly of the machinery, which has created job opportunities for Ghanaian youth and enhanced their capacity through technology importation.

Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Winfred Nii Okai Hammond, praised Zonda Tec for its contribution to Ghana’s economy and youth empowerment. He expressed optimism about the partnership’s growth potential with support from the Ghana Bauxite Company.

Edem Wisdom Gomashie, Personal Assistant to the Minister of Natural Resources and Mines, lauded Zonda Tec’s efforts in combating illegal mining by ensuring that equipment purchasers possess the necessary licenses. He emphasized the importance of technology transfer and compliance with Ghana’s Mining Act in this regard.

The introduction of Shantui heavy machinery by Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s construction and mining sectors, promising enhanced efficiency and productivity in these key industries.
