ASA Savings and Loans Company Limited has donated items to support some health and educational institutions across the country.
At the Alajo 3 and 4 Primary and the KG School, the company presented items such as 10 Crompton ceiling fans to improve on ventilation in the classrooms, 100 customised exercise books, a set of customised football jerseys, four white marker boards, two teachers’ tables and chairs, as well as stationery items.
In addition, the establishment has connected pipe water to the school to solve water challenges that the school has been facing for a very long time.
On why the school was supported, the Branch Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Business Centre at Alajo, Emmanuella Taylor, indicated that it forms part of her outfit’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
She said it delights the Savings and Loans company to extend a helping hand to the school to contribute to effective teaching and learning.
Deputy Head Teacher of the school, Madam Patience Abena Adjei, expressed appreciation to ASA Savings and Loans for the kind gesture.
She said the ceiling fans in particular will solve a major ventilation problem that affects teaching and learning during school hours, especially in the afternoon.
She noted that the school will forever be grateful to ASA for connecting water to the school and called on other institutions to provide security lights and renovate the school building.
Adding his voice, PTA Chairman of the School, Mr. Nii Teiko Tagoe, appealed to the company to make the ICT lab of the school functional.
At the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the Anaji Business Centre of ASA Savings and Loans presented assorted medical and technological equipment to enhance quality healthcare delivery.
The items included four Jectermac suction machine, 12 suction tubes, three fingertip pulse oximeter, five packs of disposable hair net, three packs of pregnancy test kits, four packs of gauze roll, two aneroid sphygmomanometers as well as two foldable walking sticks, four-legged walk stick and one armpit crutches.
Samuel Odoom, Anaji Area Manager of the company, said the donation forms part of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility. “We asked the hospital of their needs and a list was provided for the purchase of these items,” he explained.
Michael Danso, Head of Administration at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, commended the company for the gesture, saying: “This falls in line with the hospital’s strategic goals for 2024 to advance healthcare delivery in the Western Region”.
“All these items are very important to us, especially the suction machine – which is an essential life-saving equipment. It clears the airwaves for people to breath correctly. Once you have such an equipment, it means you’ve taken a step further toward improving the recovery process of our patients,” he said.
Sunyani M/A Basic School was also provided with items by ASA Savings and Loans Ltd. to support government efforts in ensuring quality delivery of service to students.
The items presented were three teachers’ tables and six chairs, 20 mono desks, six white marker boards, two ‘Veronica’ buckets, 100 pieces of exercise books, four boxes of pens, one box of pencils as well as one box of board marker.

Mr. Isaac Agyapong, Area Manager of the company, gave the assurance that the company would continue to partner public schools to improve on the quality of education across the country. “We have supported a lot of public schools and health facilities throughout the year and it is our hope that it will lead to improved service delivery to the populace,” he added. Some of the institutions that benefitted from our gesture include Kasoa Emmanuel Presby School, Akyem Aboabo Health Centre, Benim Community, Effia Nkwanta Hospital, Alajo 3 and 4 Basic School, among others.
The Head Teacher of the school, Mr. Eric Duotey, expressed gratitude to the company for choosing their school to help minimise their plight. “We would put it to good use to ensure that lessons are delivered appropriately and test administered properly to uplift the image of the school and to meet the standards of GES.” He praised the company for extending this kind gesture to them.
In a similar event, the company donated items to the Jubilee Catholic Children Hospital at Apowa in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region.
The items include 4,000 litre-capacity Poly Tank, tissues, 19 plastic chairs, two big dustbins, three big bucket sizes of Azar paint, detergents, weight scales and blood pressure monitor as part of ASA Savings and Loans CSR projects.
Francis Gyabeng, Manager, Kwesiminstim Business Centre Manager of the company, explained that these items are needed to care for the patients.
“We acknowledge that your hospital serves majority of the people in the municipality, and we appreciate the good healthcare delivery you are offering to the communities” he said.
Daniel Bomah, the Hospital Administrator, expressed gratitude the ASA Savings and Loans for the gesture.
“These items are of great relief to us and we hope the relationship will continue. We are ever-ready to give our human resource to support your health screening when the need arises,” he said.
Dr. Marian Afful -Eshun, Acting Head of the Facility/Medical Director, promised the items would be used effectively and efficiently.
